Supermicro server accessoire AOC-ATGC-i2TM-O

For servers and workstations where dual 10-Gigabit copper connectivity must fit into tight spaces, the Supermicro AOC-ATGC-I2TM-O stands apart by pairing an Intel X540 controller with a low-profile PCIe 2.1 x8 form factor. This adapter delivers two RJ45 ports capable of 10GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T, and 100BASE-TX, so you can connect to existing Cat 6a or Cat 6 cabling without investing in fibre infrastructure. Hardware-assisted offloads for iSCSI, FCoE, and virtualization keep CPU overhead low, while PXE boot and jumbo frame support make it a practical choice for both bare-metal and virtualized environments.

Highlights

• Dual RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation for 10 Gbps, 1 Gbps, and 100 Mbps speeds
• Intel Ethernet Controller X540 for proven reliability and broad OS support
• PCI Express 2.1 x8 host interface for ample bandwidth on modern servers
• Low-profile bracket pre-installed; full-height bracket included for standard chassis
• Supports Cat 6a up to 100 m, Cat 6 up to 55 m, and Cat 5e for 1G/100M links
• Advanced features: Intel VT-c, PXE boot, iSCSI, FCoE, VLAN tagging, and teaming
• Jumbo frames up to 15.5 KB for improved large-transfer performance
• Typical power consumption of only 13 W for energy-conscious deployments

In daily use

Install the AOC-ATGC-I2TM-O into any PCIe x8 or larger slot and immediately gain two independent 10-Gigabit Ethernet connections over standard twisted-pair copper. The low-profile design fits 2U and smaller rack servers, while the included full-height bracket adapts it to tower workstations. In virtualized clusters, Intel VT-c reduces I/O bottlenecks by offloading traffic management to the adapter, and support for VMware ESXi, Windows Server, and major Linux distributions means you can drop it into nearly any environment without driver headaches. The card's 0°C to 55°C operating range and modest power draw make it suitable for always-on edge servers or dense data centre racks.
