Schroef Fischer 670460 120 mm

The Fischer 670460 120 mm screw is a zinc-coated wood screw engineered for secure connections in timber and joinery tasks. With a total length of 120 mm and a thread diameter of 6 mm, it is designed to deliver reliable holding power in soft and hardwoods. The 70 mm threaded portion ensures deep engagement, while the zinc finish offers basic corrosion resistance for interior and covered exterior applications.

Advantages

This screw combines a long shank with a substantial threaded length to provide strong withdrawal resistance and stable joint formation in wooden assemblies. The 6 mm thread diameter balances shear strength and ease of driving, while the zinc plating reduces the risk of rust in normal indoor environments. Available in packs of 100, it is convenient for both trade professionals and home users who require consistent fasteners for multiple fixings.

Suitable for

• Attaching structural or non-structural wooden elements such as beams, joists, and battens
• Deck framing and substructure connections in covered or protected areas
• Furniture assembly and large carpentry projects
• General joinery, repair work and retrofitting in domestic and workshop settings

Key specifications

• Length: 120 mm
• Thread diameter: 6 mm
• Threaded length: 70 mm
• Material/coating: steel with zinc plating
• Pack quantity: 100 pieces
• Head type: (standard wood screw head) suitable for power driving

How to use

Pre-drill a pilot hole appropriate to the screw’s core diameter when working close to board edges or with hardwoods to reduce splitting. Select a compatible screwdriver bit or drill driver with matching head geometry and drive the screw at steady speed until the head sits flush or slightly recessed, depending on the desired finish. For long runs or heavy loads, ensure timber members are adequately supported and that screw spacing follows structural guidance.

Recommendations

Use these zinc-coated screws for interior and sheltered exterior woodwork; avoid prolonged exposure to direct weather or contact with treated timber unless additional corrosion protection is applied. For outdoor or high-humidity environments, consider stainless steel or specially coated fasteners. Store screws in a dry place to preserve the zinc finish and ensure consistent driving performance.
