Powerline-adapter Devolo Magic 2 WiFi 6 next Starter Kit – wit, model 7188

The Devolo Magic 2 WiFi 6 next Starter Kit combines powerline data transmission with integrated Wi‑Fi 6 access to extend network coverage using existing electrical wiring. This white starter kit provides both wired and wireless connectivity options, enabling improved signal strength in rooms with weak Wi‑Fi and delivering stable throughput for applications such as streaming and online gaming. The kit is designed for home use and larger apartments where running new network cables is impractical.

Advantages

The adapter set uses powerline technology to create a wired backbone over household electrical circuits while offering next‑generation Wi‑Fi 6 wireless performance for connected devices. It reduces dead zones by bridging the router signal to remote rooms without the need for drilling or additional cabling. Built‑in features prioritize stability and low latency for demanding applications and allow multiple devices to connect simultaneously with improved spectral efficiency.

Suitable for

• Extending home network coverage to rooms with weak or no Wi‑Fi
• Smoothing 4K/HD streaming and video calls across the home
• Providing low‑latency connections for online gaming and remote work
• Connecting smart‑TVs, set‑top boxes and media players where Wi‑Fi is unreliable
• Supplying wired Ethernet access in rooms lacking a network outlet

Key specifications

• Network technology: Powerline backbone with integrated Wi‑Fi 6 access point
• Wi‑Fi standard: IEEE 802.11ax (Wi‑Fi 6) compatible
• Frequency bands: Dual‑band operation (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)
• Ethernet ports: Gigabit Ethernet ports for wired device connections
• Form factor and color: Compact wall‑plug adapter, white finish
• Security: WPA3/WPA2 wireless security support and powerline encryption

How to use

Connect one adapter to a power outlet near your router and link it to the router with an Ethernet cable. Plug the second adapter into a power outlet in the room where you need coverage; it will automatically form a powerline network over the existing electrical wiring. Configure the Wi‑Fi network name and password using the device setup app or web interface if customization is required. Connect devices either via the integrated Wi‑Fi 6 radio or through the adapter's Gigabit Ethernet port for a wired connection.

Recommendations

Use the starter kit in properly grounded electrical installations and avoid power strips or surge protectors between the adapter and the mains outlet to preserve throughput. Place adapters in wall outlets with sufficient ventilation and away from large electrical appliances to reduce interference. For maximum performance, connect bandwidth‑sensitive devices via Ethernet and ensure firmware is kept up to date via the manufacturer's update tools.
