Novoflex grijs/wit controlekarten Novoflex

The Novoflex Control Cards Grey/White are calibration and reference tools designed for photography and imaging workflows. The cards provide standardized neutral grey and white surfaces for quick exposure checks, white balance verification, and color consistency across shoots. Constructed from durable materials with a compact form factor, the cards are suitable for use in studio and location environments where repeatable results are required.

Advantages

These control cards offer stable neutral tones that assist in achieving consistent exposure and white balance. The robust construction resists wear from repeated handling and exposure to different lighting conditions, while the compact size allows easy inclusion in camera bags. The surface finish reduces glare and provides a reliable reference point for both manual adjustments and automated color correction in post-processing.

Suitable for

• Photographers performing color-critical portrait, product, or commercial work
• Studio and location shoots requiring consistent exposure and white balance
• Image processing workflows that use reference targets for color correction
• Camera and lens testing where neutral reference is needed

Key specifications

• Surface: neutral grey and white reference areas
• Material: durable, low-reflectance material suitable for repeated use
• Form factor: compact, portable card size for easy storage and transport
• Finish: matte surface to minimize specular highlights

How to use

Place the control card in the scene illuminated by the same light that falls on the subject, ensuring the card is oriented perpendicular to the primary light source to avoid reflections. For exposure checks, meter from the grey area or use the white area depending on the metering method. For white balance, capture a reference frame with the card filling a significant portion of the frame or use a close-up of the neutral areas. Include the reference shot at the start of the session or intermittently when lighting changes, then apply the reference during RAW conversion or color grading to ensure consistent color reproduction.

Recommendations

Handle the card by its edges to avoid fingerprints on the neutral surfaces, keep it clean and dry, and store it flat to prevent warping. When working in mixed lighting, take multiple reference shots under each dominant light to maintain accurate color balance across all images.
