I/O-blende Silverstone FPS01

The Silverstone FPS01 I/O ports panel is a compact front-panel module designed to fit a 12.7 mm tray-loading slim optical bay and expand a desktop chassis' connectivity. Constructed from durable plastic with a black finish and supplied with an alternate white front insert, the unit integrates multiple interfaces including extra USB ports, a multi-format SD card reader (MicroSD, SD, SDHC, SDXC) and an M.2 SATA (B Key) slot for a single 2.5" M.2 SATA SSD. Its low-profile dimensions (128 mm × 129 mm × 13 mm) make it suitable for small form-factor and standard desktop cases that support slim optical bay replacements.

Advantages

The FPS01 provides a space-efficient way to add external access to storage and ports without internal case modifications. Inclusion of both black and white front panels allows for simple aesthetic matching with a variety of chassis styles. The multi-format card reader supports commonly used memory cards while the integrated M.2 SATA (B Key) slot permits installation of an M.2 SATA type SSD for additional internal storage. The plastic housing keeps weight low while maintaining sufficient durability for regular front-panel use.

Suitable for

• Users who need extra front-access USB ports
• Photographers and content creators transferring data from MicroSD/SD cards
• Upgrading storage by installing an M.2 SATA (B Key) SSD in a slim optical bay
• Small form-factor PC builds that require low-profile front-panel expansion

• Front panel dimensions: 128 mm (W) × 129 mm (D) × 13 mm (H)
• Material: durable plastic housing
• Card reader support: MicroSD, SD, SDHC, SDXC
• M.2 slot: M.2 SATA, B Key (for 2.5" M.2 SATA-type SSD)
• Color options: black panel with included white insert
• Interfaces: additional front USB ports (type dependent on chassis wiring)

How to use

Install the FPS01 into a 12.7 mm tray-loading slim optical bay by removing the existing optical drive tray and sliding the panel into the bay until it secures. Connect the internal cables to the motherboard or case headers as required for USB, card reader, and M.2 SATA connectivity; ensure correct orientation of the M.2 B Key module when installing an SSD. After securing the unit and making the internal connections, power on the system and verify device recognition in the operating system. Use the front USB ports and card reader as standard external interfaces; the M.2 SATA slot functions as an internal storage device once an appropriate M.2 SATA module is installed.

Recommendations

Before installing an M.2 SATA module, confirm that your motherboard supports the required internal connections and that the SSD form factor matches the slot and available mounting points. Handle memory cards and M.2 modules by their edges to avoid electrostatic discharge, and ensure the front-panel cables are routed without tension for reliable long-term operation.
