Dexlan netwerkkabel 858705 5 m Cat6a S/FTP grijs

The Dexlan networking cable 858705 5 m Cat6a S/FTP Grey is a 5‑metre Ethernet patch cable built to Cat6a performance. It uses S/FTP (shielded foil around individual pairs plus an overall braid) construction and terminated with RJ‑45 connectors on both ends. The cable is designed for reliable high‑speed data transmission with improved resistance to external electromagnetic interference, suitable for structured cabling, workstations and equipment interconnections.

Advantages

The cable’s Cat6a design supports higher bandwidth and reduced crosstalk compared with lower category cables, enabling 10 Gigabit Ethernet at typical distances. S/FTP shielding provides additional protection against near‑end crosstalk and external EMI, which helps maintain signal integrity in electrically noisy environments. The pre‑terminated RJ‑45 connectors ensure quick installation without on‑site crimping, and the 5 m length offers flexibility for connecting devices within racks, desks or network closets.

How to use

Route the cable between devices ensuring gentle bends and avoiding tight kinks; maintain separation from high‑voltage power lines where possible to minimize interference. Plug the RJ‑45 connectors firmly into the Ethernet ports of the devices to be connected. For structured cabling installations, use the cable to link patch panels to switches or to create direct device connections; for best performance, verify link speed and duplex settings on network equipment after connection.

Recommendations

For optimal signal performance, avoid sharp bends and excessive pulling force during installation. When running the cable near sources of strong electromagnetic interference, prefer shielded routing or grounding practices consistent with local cabling standards. Test the installed link with a network tester to confirm correct wiring and expected throughput.
