Borgringtang Knipex 48 21 J21

The Knipex 48 21 J21 Circlip Pliers are precision hand tools engineered for installing and removing circlips. Constructed from forged chrome vanadium electric steel with oil hardening and fitted with non-slip plastic handles, these pliers measure 165 mm and weigh 175 g. The tool features drawn spring-steel inserted tips for extended service life and a bolted joint that ensures precise, zero‑backlash operation.

Advantages

Inserted tips provide reliable contact and up to ten times longer service life in continuous operation compared with turned tips. The bolted joint maintains precise alignment and eliminates play between the jaws. The non-slip plastic coating on the handles improves grip during use, while the chrome vanadium electric steel body offers strength and durability under repeated use.

How to use

Select the correct orientation of the pliers for internal or external circlips, place the inserted tips into the circlip holes or ends, and apply steady pressure to expand or compress the circlip as required. Keep the bolted joint aligned and operate with controlled motion to avoid sudden releases. After use, clean any debris from the tips and store the pliers in a dry place to preserve the oil‑hardened steel.

Recommendations

For safe and long-lasting performance, use the pliers only on circlips within the tool's intended size range, avoid excessive bending of the tips, and inspect the inserted tips regularly for wear. Do not use the pliers as a hammer or pry tool.
